VERMONT INSTITUTE ON GOVERNMENT EFFECTIVENESS NAMES EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR
Montpelier, Vermont- The Vermont Institute on Government Effectiveness, Inc.
announced today that David Bradbury has been hired as its first Executive Director.
“We are delighted to have David spearhead our efforts,” said David
Coates, Board Chair and President. “David’s private and public sector
experiences offer a balanced perspective on the daily challenges and opportunities
confronting state employees and managers in serving Vermonters.”
Since 1998, Bradbury has operated a private sector management consulting and
business advisory company, Aggregate Capital Partners, LLC in Stowe. From 1992
to 1997, Bradbury served within the Vermont Agency of Commerce as a reorganization
consultant and as Director of Financial Services Development. He also served
for three years as Deputy Commissioner of the Vermont Department of Economic
Development in Governor Howard Dean’s administration.
“Vermont State government today is a $3.6 billion per year organization
with over 8,000 hard working public employees,” commented Bradbury. “Governor
Douglas has challenged our Board and staff to think creatively and cooperatively
with others to identify change opportunities and savings using technology within
state government.”
Formed in July 2003 by Governor Jim Douglas as a privately supported corporation,
the Vermont Institute is an independent, public benefit corporation sponsoring
change leadership and improvements in the operating effectiveness of Vermont
state government. The Vermont Institute’s mission is to “provide
independent findings and support to improve government’s effectiveness
for the benefit of all Vermonters.”
