Thank you for visiting and learning more about us.

Initiated in 2003 by Governor Jim Douglas, the Vermont Institute on Government Effectiveness, Inc. (“Vermont Institute”) is a public benefit organization that is privately supported and managed. The Vermont Institute is an independent, non-partisan government effectiveness and change leadership organization. We do not receive any pubic sources of funding in fulfillment of our mission, but rely upon the generous support of private contributors who share a common desire to improve the effectiveness of how Vermont state government serves its citizens and employees.

During Our two year time project horizon that ended September 30, 2005, the Vermont Institute researched, solicited, evaluated and supported opportunities for change that positively impact the underlying technology, organization and human infrastructure which provide Vermont government services on a daily basis. At present, the Institute remains largely inactive and is providing limited service and implementation assistance to Administrators, state employees and policymakers.

We look forward to your ongoing focus and desire in improving state government effectiveness in years ahead.

Sincerely,

David Bradbury

Executive Director (2003-2005)
