In fulfillment of our mission to help improve state government’s effectiveness,
the Vermont Institute has focused on four broad areas of interest. These activity
areas are:
Best Practices Identification and Sharing
To identify areas of best practices in organization, management and
technology that can be communicated and shared among state policy makers, managers
and employees.
Technology Opportunities and Infrastructure
To identify and assess opportunity areas for technology infrastructure
investments, benefits to customer services and increases in employee productivity.
Performance Benchmarking
To identify and develop metrics on the efficiency of government operations
for comparison to peer states, as base data for policy discussions and as a
measurement of performance effectiveness.
Partnerships and Coalition Building
To listen, assemble and construct with key partners and stakeholders
findings and recommendations for change that improve and support government
operations and the public workforce
